Bochy, Bengie, Antlers

Are you ready for the World Series? Team FanHouse is really cranking. We had three writers and a video crew at the ballpark today, and we’ll have three more writers for the games. It’s really quite impressive.

I wrote two stories today, one on the Bengie Molina factor, which I’ve already discussed here. I really don’t think it’ll make that much of a difference in the series. If the Giants pitchers execute, they’ll get outs. If not, they won’t. Anyway, makes for a good story.

The other story is a primer for the new fans just now tuning in to the Giants and Rangers, explaining what the deal is with all those little symbols and catch phrases, like “Torture” and the Thong and the Beard. You gotta believe a lot of people are going to tune in to these games and wonder.

Tom Krasovic, who covered all of Bruce Bochy’s years in San Diego, wrote a great feature on him. Kras has probably covered more Bochy games than anyone else on the planet.

Ed Price wrote a story about Javier Lopez vs. Josh Hamilton. If Lopez can shut down Hamilton the way he did Chase Utley and Ryan Howard, that would be very good for the Giants.

John Hickey wrote a story on the two leadoff men, Andres Torres and Elvis Andrus. I gotta give the Rangers the edge here, especially since Torres will be facing lefties in four of the possible seven games.

I may not be able to take the time to link to all our coverage here throughout the series, so I suggest you just bookmark MLB FanHouse. You can also follow MLB FanHouse on Twitter, so you’ll get all the links as the stories are posted.

What happened to Guillen? Has he just disappeared? The other non-roster players from September are still there?
