Jeff Kent had a conference call with reporters today, in advance of his going onto the Giants’ Wall of Fame on Saturday. He said a few interesting things, but what was most interesting to me was what he didn’t say. He didn’t say how he broke his wrist in 2002.
I thought that maybe, not that he’s retired and being immortalized by the Giants, he might admit to his lie about washing his truck, say he was sorry, something like that.
Nope.
“There is always a secret, and it will always stay a secret,” Kent said Monday.
He went on after that about how it was no one’s business how he broke his wrist and the media should have just left it alone. It’s not a big deal, now, because he only missed five games because of the injury, but I’m wondering if you, Giants fans, care?
Hey folks, just wanted to say I’m back from my hot-air balloon trip around the world. Obviously, I didn’t have Internet access while in the balloon, so…
Just kidding.
I know it’s been a while. A lot of days I would think about my blog, but never got around to posting anything. Then yesterday I got this comment from Les From Santa Rosa.
DId Jeff abandon this blog? It used to be required reading for bay area BB fans. Seems strange to me, with the Giants right in the thick of it. I guess he has become enamoured with twitter and blogging is so first half of 2009. Maybe this is Jeff’s way of avoiding a crow dinner on the subject of Pablo Sandoval, whom he dissed on this very blog way back in the Spring. Way to duck responsibility for your words, Jeff! Just abandon the blog altogether.

In a bit of a twist on the "learning how to win" meme that we hear so often when describing good teams, this year's Reds are perhaps most notable because of the way they lose. The Reds have bounced back from some of the most disheartening games a […]

by Jeff FletcherFiled under: Reds, MLB TransactionsWith the deadline for postseason eligibility coming up on Tuesday, there is plenty of speculation about what last-minute promotions teams may make to get players on the big-league roster in time. Yahoo's Jeff Passan tweeted that the Reds planned to call up Aroldis Chapman on Monday or Tuesday to make hi […]
