Hey all,

While we're on the topic of commercials, I'm not sure if any of you have seen the MLB 2K9 commercial on TV, but it's pretty funny. Take a look at it here..

That had to have been a horrible game to have sat through. As interesting as a regular season game that took place 46 years ago is, I'm going to shift gears and share with you a commercial that aired on KNBR today that is supposed to compel fans to buy season tickets:

SFX: a thud-like sound effect
Voice: "Hey, that's me, Aaron Rowand diving for a ball in the outfield. Come on out to the ballpark and enjoy the sounds of the game like Fred Lewis stretching a double into a triple."
Kuiper: "SAFE!"
Krukow: "Get your season tickets now."

I would've loved to have been in the brainstorming meeting as the Giants marketing team discussed the theme for their season ticket radio campaign.

Not only is this a great idea Mr. Fletcher but I love it is about a “legendary” game I grew up hearing about, perfect for a chilly morning. Thanks.

Yeah, next time I talk to Willie Mays I'll tell him he's got to come someplace quieter. :)

Honestly, I didn't record these with the intent of playing them for anyone but me, so I wasn't too concerned about pristine sound quality. In the future I won't even post things unless they are good quality or really interesting. These are just tests. I'm more concerned with how the software works for people than how good the sound quality is.

Great idea to add interviews to your blog. How often do you get a chance to hear the great Willie Mays reminisce about his playing days? Very rare indeed. Technical note: Background noise in both interviews were a bit of a problem. The noise made it difficult to make out everything Willie and Kevin said. Try moving the interview to a quieter location or move the mic closer to the interviewee's mouth and pot down the audio level. Monitor your audio with both the record device's meter and with earphones plugged into the record device's output jack. These techniques should help improve your audio quality.
