  • Edgar Renteria drilled his first homer of the spring. (Oh, wait. It’s not his first homer, because it doesn’t count. Remember, this is an exhibition exhibition, not a real exhibition.¬†How silly is that?) Anyway, based on these two at-bats, I’d say Renteria is definitely going to have a huge season and you should definitely pick him first in your fantasy league.
  • Just noticed that Travis Ishikawa is hitting fifth and Aaron Rowand is hitting sixth today. Interesting. Ishikawa is definitely climbing on the depth chart with a good spring.
  • Man, this game is going slow.

Ishikawa has been hitting 5th whenever the Giants play their “regular lineup” and Lewis can’t go because of his still sore foot. They do this to go alternate sides of the plate as much as possible. When Lewis plays he hits 3rd and Sandoval drops from 3rd to 5th and Ishikawa from 5th to 7th. The righties Renteria, Molina, and Rowand always hit 2, 4, and 6 respectively regardless of which lefties are hitting 3, 5, and 7. Winn always hits 1st and whoever is playing 2B always hits last of the 8 defensive position players.
