Can Pablo Sandoval do it again?

There is a fascinating post over at FanHouse about Pablo Sandoval. One of their brilliant new writers talked to a scout to get an opinion as to how successful Sandoval can be in the long-term with his current swing-at-everything approach. Check it out.

Ha, I get it, you’re the writer. Nice plug. The season needs to just start already, I really want to find out if Pablo can hack it as a real MLB hitter.

  2. GoGyrosWin! says:

I cannot wait to see how Pablo Sandoval does over the course of the year. The Giants are betting heavy on him and it will be interesting to see it play out. Bust or Bonanza? Bring it on Pablo!

  3. Lansford said in an interview that he’s seen only one player who can hit the ball like Sandoval: Vlad Guerrero. If true, it should be noted that the league hasn’t figured out how to get Vlad out yet after all these years.

In addition, when asked if opposing pitchers could just take advantage of Sandoval’s aggressiveness and throw them in the dirt, Carney noted that Pablo is not that bad about swinging at pitches. He said that he’s not a hacker, he has more discipline than that, it is just that pitches that pitchers think are good strikes but bad for a hitter, Pablo is able to square up and hit those pitches. It is not like he will go chasing after pitches in the dirt, as posited by the host.
