I saw that he changed numbers, but I asked several people in the organization about this last month and everyone said there were no plans right now to retire Rickey’s number in 2009. They said normally they do that the year after a player is inducted into the HOF. We’ll see.

Suzuki just changed his jersey number so I assume we are going to have his jersey (24) retired this year.

Should be interesting to see what the A’s have Rickey doing this year in his “goodwill” capacity.

haha god i love that guy, he is the greatest lead hitter of all time and one of the greatest players ever.
