Here’s the release, hot off the presses…
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Former Giants great and fan favorite Will Clark has joined the San Francisco Giants front office as a special assistant, the club announced today. In his new role, the six-time All-Star first baseman will represent the organization at various in-season and off-season community events in San Francisco , including the 20th Anniversary of the 1989 Giants on Saturday, June 13. He will also attend the Giants Spring Training Camp in Scottsdale , Arizona and will visit a Giants’ minor league team each year.
Clark, who brings the experience of a 15-year Major League playing career to the Giants, previously worked as an advisor to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ coaching staff in spring training from 2004-2008.
“We are delighted to welcome Will back to the organization.” said Giants Managing General Partner and CEO Bill Neukom. “He has remained a favorite among Giants fans and he will be a great addition to the outstanding group of Giants alumni who represent the organization. As a homegrown Giants player, Will brings a unique perspective to the job, enabling him to serve as a resource and mentor to our younger players at the major and minor league levels.”
yadda yadda yadda…
I’ll add some more after the conference call, which is at 11.

This is another “PR” move by Neukom to help draw prospective ticket buyers, which I understand, Clark is popular with the fans, I just wish they would concentrate more on improving the lineup. Hopefully you will have more news about this soon..
Actually, it’s probably a PR move to get reporters to write about something other than improving the lineup.
