Ok, Jeff. Will be a little more patient, part of the frustration comes from Sabean's inability to address this same problem last year. Thanks for the response and keep up the good work!

I hear your frustration Dave, but let's not forget that it's still January (for a couple days). I would put away the torches and pitchforks until at least mid March. If it looks like the Giants are actually going to play baseball games that count with this lineup, then you have every right to be ticked off.

In the meantime, I'd give Sabean the benefit of the doubt and assume he's still trying to make a trade or sign a free agent. I highy doubt he's sitting in his office killing time on Facebook and saying: "I am so pumped that we get to have Bengie Molina as our cleanup hitter again!"

Jeff, while on the surface this looks like a move to replace Rich Aurilia, it hardly addresses the lack of a rbi hitter. Why can't Sabean address the teams #1 need? Getting an aging shortstop, starting pitcher, 2 relievers, utility player and resigning Tashner(which I still don't get) is avoiding the issue. Sabean is putting touch up paint on a bombed out building! I know Manny is not a realistic option, why is he not exploring other options, instead of buying all this touch up paint? Uribe is last years Jose Castillo aquisition, and we saw how well that worked out. If he doesn't know what to look for in a big bat, can we have him ask Billy Beane, as he KNOWS how to address a team need.

Both Fandsen and Burriss can still be optioned to the minors. I am thinking that they both need to win the starting 2B job to be on the Giants MLB roster to open 2009. Velez on the other had is out of options so he may just be DFAed if he doesn't win the starting job. Another possibility is that Velez wins the 5th outfielder role and it is Roberts that is DFAed if Roberts can't be traded.
